Villa Maroulas

Built in 1426, this beautiful villa, which has been classified as a historical monument by the Greek Archeological authorities, sits above the village of Maroulas with stunning sea views. The house has been lovingly restored, highlighting the architectural characteristics, such as the exposed stone and graceful arches, while at the same time including luxurious and sophisticated touches. Situated on the north coast of Crete, the village is still a well kept secret, far from tourist influences and is strategically located equal distance from Chania and Heraklion airports. In the center of the village, you will find 3 taverns, a cheese factory and an herbal store all within walking distance.

The villa has two wings. The first wing is a two-storey building which was once part of a larger farmhouse. It has all the architectural characteristics of the Venetian era. The second wing is a one-storey building that used to be an olive press, originally constructed during the period of Turkish rule. The villa is 540m² with high ceilings (3,6m), luminous large windows and has a 110m² space opening onto the courtyard with the heated pool. The exposed stone and graceful arches inside and outside pair nicely with local marble floors. The luxurious and family-friendly villa has 5 bedrooms and four bathrooms and can accommodate up to 12 guests. Two bedrooms are on the ground floor, one with a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with separate entrance and the other is also with king-size bed and bathroom in the corridor. The remaining 3 bedrooms are on the 1st floor: two double-bedded rooms sharing a bathroom and the 3rd on this level is a queen-sized with en-suite bathroom. It offers a fully equiped kitchen as well as a wine cellar with many local products. Relax on the terrace with stunning views over the Aegean sea, enjoy the pool area with the BBQ in the walled garden or the Jacuzzi also full of privacy. A large screen can be rolled down in front of the windows leading to the courtyard, transforming the large lounge into a cinema room with amazing sound system, computer and WIFI.
