Samonas Settlement
The traditional settlement of Samonas is a mini-neighborhood located 400m high in the quaint, timeless village of Samonas in the district of Apokoronas. Due to its premier location on the hillside, Samonas offers unparalleled views of the White Mountains and Cretan sea. At night you feel as if you can touch the thousands of stars that light up the sky. A truly tranquil setting surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.
There are 5 dwellings, all 2-storey maisonettes built of stone and wood, with fabulous views to the mountains and the sea. All have been lovingly decorated with folkloric objects, antiques, hand-made furniture and embroidered linen draperies. The 5 dwellings range in size from 50m2 to 80m2 and can incorporate 2-4 persons, with the exception of Fliskouni, which can accommodate up to 6. All have at least one independent courtyard or veranda and balcony. The common areas include a gym, hamam, pool and traditional wood oven, as well as a small café that serves as the reception area with a library of books, cds and dvd films.
